My English learning process

Learning to speak English is not easy, at least for me. I think that's because I do not like the English. I'm interested in other languages like French or Portuguese, but it is well known that English is much more useful in life.

The comments I make about my experience learning English at the University, is joined to the first level for years, and I remember that the teacher was a woman with great patience and very friendly, helping us to try to develop our personality speech. I enjoyed a lot in the course, but when I entered the second level started to frustrate me. I think it was because I shared with people who already knew how to speak better English and I felt silly for not knowing how to speak. English three I felt like English two, and when I came to English four handed me something similar. For things in life, I had to change my section and found a very nice course with peers who share their knowledge, and to be few in room we can develop our linguistic habiidad. In addition, we have a teacher who is very patient and taught us well.

Regarding the use of the blog, I look fun and also serve to work writing. That if I think not even English, and I must learn. For this I decided to take a course to help me methodically and personalized way to develop my skills in this language.

Honestly, outside the English class did not use the language. I only speak Spanish, since I have no space to develop English conversation or reading in English, nor do I feel like because I do not speak it.

The truth is that I feel very frustrated.

2014: the good and bad points

This year 2014 has been a year with many good things and some not so good. Regarding the bad things that happened this year was that during the first half was very sick. They gave me a lot of headaches, and many colds, which made me feel very weak and missed much to college for that. In addition, the first half flunked a course, which discouraged me a lot, because it was a very enjoyable and interesting topic.

Among the good things I can say I've been very busy. I have been offered many job options, and that relate to things I like. Some jobs are related to quantitative research, others having to do with telling people that makes a sociologist, and other jobs that are assistantships subjects.

In that sense, my main accomplishments this 2014 have been doing things I want. The second half has gone better, work on what I want, and many people rely on as work, therefore I continue to offer employment options.

I think the academic year ending keep working, but all I want to do is to rest and go much fun with my friends. I think I want to walk and sleep a lot in the summer. Besides, I need time relfexión to know about that topic will work my seminar grade, and I hope to make a decision during the summer to arrive in March with a theme.

I want to go on vacation, and could talk for a long time with my friends, enjoying life, good food and a couple of beers to accompany the summer relaxation.

The last election of FECh

Today, I’m going to write about the last FECH election.

The FECH is the student’s federation at University of Chile. It is an important organization of the student movement.  It was born in 1906 to assist the victims of Valparaíso fire. Since then, it has been relevant to social and political processes in the Chilean society.  For example, the FECH was an essential actor to protest against Pinochet’s dictatorship. In democracy, since the end of the decade of the 90’, the student’s movements re-energized and the organization level grew up to the situation in 2011. This year, the FECh takes the lead in the student’s protest against “the business education”, and it becomes more important in the political agenda.

Since 2011, the FECh election has become topic of mass media, because whoever is elected define the course of student movement. In the last election, at November 2014, were presented six options for the management the FECh. The election was complicated, because the first day of voting, the quorum was very low. The consequences of this, was that the second day the students involved more in the process and they went  to vote. 

The final result was the next: the first position in the federation, is the presidency and winner it the candidate of "Somos Fuerza" Valentina Saavedra. She is the new president of federation during the end 2014 y all the 2015 year. I hope she do it well in your paperwork. 

How green are you? I am bit green...

Being a "green" person, today it has become relevant. People slowly but day by day, has adopted habits that show how the ecological paradigm is installed in today's society. They have many environmentally aware organizations that promote environmental stewardship emerged and explained that now the only option is to adopt a new attitude, so we can take care of the planet. So much so, that in some schools and study centers are taught to generate and promote practices that seek to raise awareness and protect the planet earth. The typical example is to landfills that are differentiated by the type of waste material that is bouncing, so it is easier to recycle that garbage. 

In my case, the truth is I'm not a very "green" person, but sometimes I try. When I can separate the trash, especially paper, I give it to people who are dedicated to take them to recycling centers. Other practices that have been developed to protect the environment and health of people, and being promoted to city level are bike paths that enable the space for people to travel by bicycle. Unfortunately, there are many places where these unique paths do not exist.

Personally, I try to bike as much as you can, playing sports, and travel to places near my house. 

I'm not part of any environmental organization, although the truth because I am becoming aware of the issue, not whether I'm willing to dedicate my time to a cause like this. I think you can just help me doing practical things away faster. 

In the case of Santiago, I think that is advanced in the areas of bike lanes, but still lacks many instances to decontaminate the environment, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles, put many more containers for differentiated waste, etc.

Global Warming

Recently, people are living the consequences of Global Warming. Each year, the changes of temperatures are unbearable. Apparently there aren't four seasons, the differences between spring and summer, or fall and winter, are vanish. 

Global warming is a phenomenon of the 20th century. The temperatures are increasing in the earthly atmosphere and in the oceans (the average temperature of world had increased from half of the 20th century to the present). 

The true is that scientists had tried during decades to understand the phenomenon, and they have come to a big conclusion: the global warming can be the cause of the greenhouse gases send out by humans. 

There are many greenhouse gases that are responsible of warming. Humans emit gases in different forms. The majority of gases emissions are of combustion process in the cars, factories, and production of electricity. The fundamental gas in the contamination is the dioxide of carbon (CO2), but is not the only one responsible of this. The methane gas released in dumping site and for farming activity, the nitrous oxide (N2O) in the fertilizer, and other gases used in the refrigeration and industrial process,  are also responsible of holding  the heat prisoner in the Earth's atmosphere. 

We must realize about this. Global warming is a great problem, and we should confront this, because if we continue to pollute the atmosphere, we will remain without a world. 

My future job: I don't know!

I'm a student of Sociology. To speak about the job of sociologist is difficult, because this profession has too much chance of action.

This possibilities are inside of the public or private areas. For example, in the field of public: the public policies in activities the governmental institutions. In the other case, in the private area, the sociologist work in investigation, or in organizations process.

In my case, I would like working in the public area, especially I take an interest in the examination of public policies, because is very important in the development of the our country. In addition, I believe that I can do better for our citizens. 

But, also I would like working in the investigation area. To know about the social phenomenons (social movements, protest, separation of class, social structure, etc.), is necessary for  to  understand and to learn our social problems (for example the poverty, the social inequality in educations, in health, in housing etc.) It helps us to get over  the difficult of country. I imagine to do it.  In that regard, I will have that working in where this different process take place...I mean that this jobs will be in an office. 

I would like travel in may future job, because this is relevant for to know other experiences. In this moments, I'm not thinking of taking. It isn't my worry.

My best holiday ever: Backpackig in the north of Chile and the South of Peru.

Between January and February of 2010, for twenty five days, more and less, I was travelling for different places inside the north of Chile, and the south of Peru, with friends University. 

This travel have two parts: the first was the exit of Santiago of Chile to the Calama, and then we go to the Arica. In this city, we were for one week, because a friend missed a personal document, and he had to process his licence. In this site is the north limit of Chile, and there is an international walkway. I with my friends, across the border, and we get a Tacna, where we took a bus, for to arrive to Arequipa. In this  site, we visited historical building. After to stay in Arequipa, we knew Cuzco, the politics center of the Inca culture. We were going over in the horses for the different Inca ruins: Ollantaytambo, the moon temple, sacsayhuaman, among others. 

The second parts of this travel, was going to the Puno. In this place is the Titicaca Lake. Then we took a bus to Tacna, and onward to Arica.  In Arica, we had in two groups. I and mi friend Belén, were doing hitchhiking for go to Iquique. There we knew a group of hippie persons, and they invited to sleep and to eat, in your home. After of this, we took a bus to Santiago. 

The people, duration of the trip was every friendly, and this trip was the best holiday in my life.
